Eduardo Zamacois y Zabala

Eduardo Zamacois y Zabala was a Bilbao-born Spanish Academic painter known for small, detailed narrative scenes.

Trained in Madrid and later based in Paris, he rose quickly—winning major awards (including a 1870 Salon gold medal) and gaining international collectors—before dying in Madrid at 29. He was later honored with posthumous recognition and major retrospectives.
